Owner Eric Antheunisse has been breeding birds since he was 9 years old, he has been in the business for 24 years. In 1997 Eric met
his wife, Alycia who quickly learned the ropes of the avicultural world. In 1999, Alycia and Eric had the first of two children, Ashle.
In 2001, their son, Brenden was born. Both children have been brought up with the great appreciation for our feathered friends and
are handy helpers
around the ranch.
Eric's passion for birds started with exotic water fowl and moved into parrots in the days when
importation of psittacines was heavy and common. For being only 33, Eric can give even the oldest most experienced breeders a run
for their money. He has witnessed the changing trends of aviculture and stayed out ahead
always creating his own.
Over the last several
years Eric and Alycia have gotten heavily involved with trade from around the world, exporting to Europe, Japan, and Asia.
Eric's passion is pyrrhura conures and their mutations but he breeds just about everything. Eric and Alycia are currently breeding
at 3 farms with a total in inventory of over 3000 birds. Two facilities in California and one in Europe which is used for species
that we hope will one day be allowed to be imported into the US and also as a quaranteen station for the birds that we import for
our facilities here and resale. Over the last couple of years we have been a part of the US Fish and Wildlife Coop of breeding rare
and endangered conures in the United States, some of which include the Crimson Bellied Conure,
Firey Shoulder Conure, Rosiefrons,
and many more.
In May of 2003 we opened California's largest exotic store in Lodi, just south of Sacramento off of Hwy 99. Our shop
is filled with handfed babies, a huge selection of toys, cages and supplies
all at reasonable prices.
